pdfFiller vs DocAISign: editor subscription or one signature request?

Search results for filling and signing a PDF often lead to pdfFiller. It is a full PDF editor sold by subscription, and its signature-request features sit on the highest individual plan. If you need one signature on a finished PDF, check what you are subscribing to before you start a trial.

A comparison by the maker of DocAISign, based on official product documentation. We have not independently tested every competitor or verified every plan. Product names belong to their owners.

DocAISign paid checkout is not currently enabled. Self-signing is free; check your available sends and the Pricing page before planning a request.

Three plans, two billing terms

pdfFiller’s plans page lists Basic, Plus and Premium, plus enterprise versions. The monthly price of each plan is more than double its annual-commitment monthly equivalent, so compare the term you will actually pay.

Basic covers editing, filling, saving and faxing; Plus adds templates and fillable fields; Premium adds e-signature requests through signNow, web forms, branding and user management.

Read the trial and renewal terms

The homepage advertises a free 30-day trial and cancelling at any time. The terms of service say a payment method may be required and that subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Note the trial end date and keep the cancellation confirmation.

The FAQ describes refunds within 180 days of cancellation, while the terms describe fees as non-refundable except under the site’s refund policy. If refunds matter to you, ask support which policy applies before paying.

Large uploads and many formats

pdfFiller accepts PDFs up to 100 MB and Word, PowerPoint, Excel, image and text files up to 25 MB. DocAISign accepts PDFs up to 20 MB and 100 pages and photos combined into a PDF; Word files should be saved as PDF first.

When an editor is the right tool

If you need to change text, add form fields, merge files or keep reusable templates, an editor subscription can earn its price. If the PDF is already final and only needs signatures, the editing features are not what you are paying for.

Where DocAISign fits

DocAISign has no subscription or trial to convert: signing your own PDF is free, and sending to one recipient uses a send. It does not edit text, add form fields, merge files or fax; for faxing, download the signed PDF and use a separate service. Check Pricing for current send availability.
