airSlate SignNow vs DocAISign: invite allowances for occasional senders

A plan that says “unlimited users” can still count every request you send. If you only ask for a signature now and then, the important numbers are how many invites a plan includes, how declined or cancelled requests are counted, and what you pay after the allowance runs out.

A comparison by the maker of DocAISign, based on official product documentation. We have not independently tested every competitor or verified every plan. Product names belong to their owners.

DocAISign paid checkout is not currently enabled. Self-signing is free; check your available sends and the Pricing page before planning a request.

SignNow plans are seat-free but invite-counted

SignNow’s pricing page lists Business, Business Premium and Enterprise plans with unlimited users, plus a Site License priced per signature invite. Monthly equivalents shown for annual billing are lower than the month-to-month prices. A 7-day free trial is described in the FAQ.

Its FAQ says annual plans include up to 100 signature invites per account per year and monthly plans up to 10 per month. After that, additional invites are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis.

How an invite is counted

According to the same FAQ, a request to one or several recipients counts as one invite, even for a group of documents. A declined document still counts, and so does an invite you cancel before it is signed. Forwardable invite links can count once per completion.

DocAISign counts in a similar way at a smaller scale: one document sent to one signer uses one send at the moment it is sent, revoking does not return it, and sending again after a decline or an expired link uses a new send.

What the higher tiers add

Business Premium lists bulk send, signing links, payment collection, scheduled sending and team features. Enterprise adds items such as branding, SMS delivery, advanced signer authentication, conditional fields and approval workflows. API access, SSO and premium integrations are listed with the Site License.

Recipients do not need a SignNow account to sign, according to the FAQ. DocAISign recipients also sign through an email link without registering.

Work out your yearly count

  • Count last year’s signature requests, including corrections that had to be resent.
  • Add requests that were declined or cancelled: they still use an invite or a send.
  • Compare an annual commitment with buying only the sends you use.
  • Check whether you need several signers, templates or integrations at all.
  • Ask what the per-invite price is once an included allowance is used up.

Where DocAISign fits

DocAISign suits a prepared PDF with signature and date boxes for you and one recipient. There is no subscription: new accounts get free sends and further sends are bought when needed; check Pricing for current availability. It has no templates, bulk send, routing, SMS, API or identity verification.

If your volume regularly exceeds a few requests a month, or you need team reporting and approval workflows, a plan like SignNow’s may be the better tool.
