Signing guides
Fill out a PDF before signing: choose an editor or a request tool
A signature tool may not fill the rest of your form. If a PDF still needs names, checkboxes, initials or corrections, list those changes first. Prepare a complete file before asking someone to sign it.
DocAISign paid checkout is not currently enabled. Self-signing is free; check your available sends and the Pricing page before planning a request.
Separate missing text from a signature field
A blank address line needs a text entry. An unsigned signature line needs a signature action. A checkbox needs a clear choice. Treating all three as places for a drawn mark can leave a form unreadable or incomplete.
If you own the editable source, finishing it there and exporting a new PDF is often the clearest path. If you only have a PDF, determine whether it has fillable fields or needs an editor that can add content.
iLovePDF distinguishes signing options
iLovePDF’s Sign PDF page offers self-signing or invitations, lists fields such as text, initials and date, and distinguishes simple signing from a Premium digital-signature option. Check which mode and plan provide the required inputs rather than assuming every PDF signing tool works identically.
Sejda documents a fill-and-sign workflow
Sejda’s Fill & Sign guide describes creating a signature by typing, drawing or uploading an image, then placing and resizing it on a page. Its tool also includes text and existing-form controls. Evaluate those preparation actions separately from any need to track another person’s signature request.
What DocAISign does and does not fill
DocAISign adds signature and date boxes. It does not currently add general text fields, checkboxes, initials fields or edit the document’s existing wording. Fill required non-signature content in your source editor or a suitable PDF editor before uploading.
It can then self-sign without an account or send to one recipient from a confirmed sender account with available sends. Review the complete exported file before placing boxes; do not assume an empty form becomes complete just because the final signature is present.
Use a version check at the hand-off
- Save the working source separately from the final PDF prepared for signing.
- Reopen the final PDF and verify typed entries, checked choices and page count.
- Compare orientation and small text after exporting or compressing.
- Do not flatten, convert or edit an already signed original without checking the required workflow.
- Confirm the recipient accepts the selected signature method before sending.
If the prepared file fails to upload
Check whether it opens normally in a PDF viewer, then check size, page count and any password protection. Renaming an extension does not convert a file. Diagnose the visible error before repeatedly uploading the same copy.
