Signing guides
Send a PDF for signature without a recipient account
The sender prepares the PDF and identifies where the other person should sign. The recipient reviews it and confirms their own signature. DocAISign supports one other recipient per request without requiring that recipient to register.
DocAISign paid checkout is not currently enabled. Self-signing is free; check your available sends and the Pricing page before planning a request.
Prepare the final file and verify your email
Create a sender account and confirm its email before sending. Check your available sends: a request uses one when it is sent. If you need more, check current top-up availability on Pricing before preparing a time-sensitive request.
Upload a completed PDF or make one from photos. Resolve revisions and confirm every page before sending. A signing request is not a substitute for finishing the document’s wording or agreeing which version is final.
Assign every box deliberately
Use Me for your own signature/date fields and Signer for the recipient’s. Add at least one recipient signature box and sign your own signature boxes before sending. The recipient preview includes the sender marks already saved.
Open the form and enter the name, email and optional message. Re-read the address: the signing link grants access to the document, so a wrong address can expose it. Do not forward somebody else’s signing link.
Explain the recipient steps
The recipient opens the email link, reviews the electronic-signature disclosure and agrees before reaching the signing screen. They inspect the PDF, activate each assigned signature box and choose Finish signing followed by the explicit confirmation.
If the invitation is missing, check spam and the address used. Do not post the private link publicly to work around delivery uncertainty. Account-free access simplifies the hand-off but does not independently establish legal identity.
Understand closed links
The sender can revoke a pending request. A recipient can decline with an optional reason, and links also expire. A closed link cannot complete the old request. Declined or expired requests return to a draft workflow so the sender can review and send again.
Sending again can use another send. Check current counting and refund rules before resending. If a correction is needed, resolve it before creating another invitation.
Check completion and preserve records
The result page offers the signed PDF and audit record. Completion emails may include attachments when files fit the attachment limit; larger results remain available through download links. Save your own copies and inspect every intended mark.
Opened means the link was accessed, not that signing finished. Check the final signed status and downloaded PDF. Keep records before their displayed deletion date, and follow any recipient-specific identity or document requirements.
