Typed or drawn PDF signature: choose a readable mark and review the result

Drawing with a finger is not always comfortable, and a typed mark can look different from a handwritten one. Choose an available method that suits the document’s accepted process, then inspect the actual mark and field rather than relying on the preview style alone.

DocAISign paid checkout is not currently enabled. Self-signing is free; check your available sends and the Pricing page before planning a request.

Check what the recipient or process accepts

Confirm any required signing method before completing the document. A familiar handwritten appearance does not itself establish identity, while a typed appearance does not explain the whole record. The required workflow may include checks beyond the mark.

DocAISign provides typed or drawn electronic marks and an audit. It does not provide formal identity verification or certificate-based signatures. If a specified method is required, establish that before using either option.

Use Draw for handwriting

Open your assigned signature box and use the Draw option. Sign with a finger or mouse, then inspect the result. Use Clear to start again if the drawing is incomplete or hard to read.

Do not assume that enlarging a tiny scribble makes it useful. If the screen or pointing device makes handwriting difficult, consider the Type option when that is accepted by the intended process.

Use Type for the supported name styles

Choose Type in the signature panel, enter your name and select one of the displayed styles. Review the entire name before choosing Adopt and sign. A style is a presentation choice, not an extra identity check.

DocAISign’s current panel supports drawing or typing; it does not provide a signature-image upload control. An image generated in another service is not automatically a supported input here.

Review ownership, placement and saving

Only complete boxes assigned to you. In the sender editor, Me and Signer distinguish who should fill each field. Check that the mark fits its space and does not cover nearby terms or dates.

After adoption, wait for the save result. If the editor shows a save error and Retry saving, keep the tab open and recover the save before sending or finalising. A mark visible on screen can still be unsaved.

Keep adoption separate from final completion

Adopting a mark fills a box. Complete the remaining required steps and use the page’s final action to finish the request. Do not treat the signature panel closing as proof that the entire document has completed.

Inspect the signed download and its audit afterwards. Check the intended page, mark and date rather than only the success message.

If a completed mark needs changing

Keep the completed original and arrange the appropriate correction or replacement. Do not quietly edit the signed output and present it as unchanged. If the request is still pending, its owner should check the current state before issuing another version.
